Whomby
Who are we?

Two companies, one idea about learning

Whomby is built by Neuro in Business and Neuroscience and Innovation at Work. We came to this from applied neuroscience and organisational practice rather than from ed-tech — and it shows in what we build and in what we refuse to build.

The companies

Who makes Whomby

Two organisations, one team in practice. One works inside companies; the other keeps the methods honest.

Neuro in Business

Neuro in Business

Applied neuroscience for business

Neuro in Business works with organisations on the human side of performance: how teams learn, how leaders decide, and how change actually sticks once the workshop is over. Years of training rooms and programmes taught us what transfers to the job and what evaporates the moment people return to their desks.

Neuroscience and Innovation at Work

Neuroscience and Innovation at Work

Research meeting the workplace

Neuroscience and Innovation at Work turns research on cognition, attention and motivation into methods people can use at work. It is the side of the project that keeps us honest: if the evidence does not support a technique, it does not make it into the platform.

The story

How we got here

  1. 2020

In 2020, with classrooms closed and everyone at home, we launched Whomby: a learn-from-home initiative to keep people learning when the usual channels stopped working. It was small and it was urgent, and it taught us how much of learning design survives contact with a laptop on a kitchen table.

  2. Hoipoi Learning

Later we built Hoipoi Learning, an AI-powered LMS that gives each client organisation its own private instance, with AI tools for learners and for the people who create the courses. It grew from a way of delivering our own programmes into a business of its own.

  3. Whomby

Opening the platform to the general public made the two halves one project. Hoipoi Learning becomes Whomby, and the public instances — Study, Pro and Sapiens — take up the name that started it all.

Mission and vision

Where research meets real life

Whomby sits at the intersection of scientific rigor, higher education, corporate training, enablement, and real life:

Our Mission

To make learning effectively easier — both for the individual who needs to learn and for the organization responsible for helping them do so.

Our Vision

A world where mastering a subject doesn't depend on having spare time, endless resources, or ironclad willpower, but on having an experience designed around how our brains actually work.

How we work

The rules we hold ourselves to

  1. Empirical evidence over intuition

We rely on the science of learning. Intuition and experience matter, but learning design is validated through data and biology, not trends.

  2. Real retention over vanity metrics

The goal isn't just to "complete" a course or hit play on every video. The only real success is absorbing knowledge so it stays in your head.

  3. AI as a copilot, not a shortcut

We use artificial intelligence to empower your capabilities, not replace them. If the tool does the work for you, you learn nothing; if it forces you to think, knowledge lasts forever.

  4. Desirable friction over passive consumption

We customize your journey not to make it so effortless that you get bored, but to give you the exact challenge your brain needs to build neural connections. We help you think — we don't think for you.

  5. Biology over willpower

Learning must adapt to real adult life. We design around your fatigue peaks, busy schedule, and attention span.

  6. Small, honest promises

We would rather under-promise a feature than dress up a demo. You should recognise the product you were shown.

  7. The learner comes first

Organisations pay us; we build for the person in front of the screen. When those two pull in different directions, the learner wins.

  8. Multilingual by construction

Catalan, Spanish and English are the languages we work in every day, and the platform adds French and Italian natively. None of them is an afterthought.

  9. Privacy is not a plan tier

Data separation and content ownership are part of how the product is built, not an upsell on a pricing page.
